Self-care is customisable so it can look like a lot of things: indulgence, spirituality, exercise, nutrition, and education to list a few. However, people are often pushed to invoke self-care practices at points of trauma and exhaustion which look like active rest or a break from routine. While necessary, benefits from such self-care are momentary in an individual’s healing journey. Making space for healthy habits, boundaries, and motivations is imperative to recovery.
