Supporting Your Loved One in an Abusive Relationship
It can be difficult to understand what to do when a friend or family member is in an abusive relationship. You want to help, but you may fear saying or doing the wrong thing, or worse, pushing them away. They may keep going back to their partner despite conversations about their toxicity, leaving you feeling hurt, helpless, and drained.
The Centre for Restoration works on issues of relationship abuse from a research-backed, trauma-informed lens. Through this online workshop, we want to empower the immediate communities of survivor-victims with the tools and knowledge to end relationship abuse.
What You’ll Discover:
- Ways to approach difficult conversations with empathy and compassion
- Insights into why your loved one may find it hard to leave their situation
- Practical tips for providing comfort and support while taking care of yourself
- A sense of belonging and solidarity within our supportive community
