About: The Mood Space is an online talk-therapy platform built by therapists to improve access to therapy, de-stigmatise mental health, and offer curated tools by leveraging technology and expertise. Our therapists use a trauma-informed, queer, neurodivergence as well as a caste-affirmative lens. Our vision is to make quality and comprehensive mental health care accessible to South Asians, everywhere, any time, in all languages, and all devices. Our organisational ethos is rooted in client-centricity and over the years we have tried to attend to clients’ needs as well as our professionals in a timely manner with the best therapist-client match.

About the Founder: Vidhi Tamboli has completed her M.ED & M.A in Mental Health Counselling from Columbia University, NewYork. Vidhi has developed a strong background in the sphere of mental health. Operating from an integrative approach, Vidhi aids clients in discovering the roots of their problems by turning them into their own wisdom. She strongly believes that we need to break away from the stigma surrounding therapy and give our mind the nourishment it needs, in the form of talk therapy. A professional with great leadership skills, she is always open to novel ideas and perspectives while learning more than all the skills that she has already mastered. She inspires those around her with her zeal as she makes being a ‘founder’ look easy via her command over skills such as communication, delegation, and her unmissable positive outlook. Being the Founder and Psychologist at The Mood Space, Vidhi’s vision is to make therapy confidential, convenient, and stigma-free, aiming to build a generation that sees no stigma around seeking therapy.

  • We follow a 5-step model to therapy:
    1. Initial Assessment: complete a comprehensive screening and risk evaluation to establish eligibility for online therapy.
    2. Client-therapist Match: our care team representatives (psychology graduates) conduct the initial consultation based on the initial assessment form and provide the right therapist match curated for specific needs and preferences.
    3. Therapy Session: Our care team schedules the first session for the therapist and client and the well-being journey commences.
    4. Care-continuity or termination: Following a few sessions, the therapist and client mutually can take a call regarding the course of the client’s well-being journey.
    5. Post-therapy Care: Self-care tools and resources, follow-ups, and booster sessions by opting for a subscription model to drive care continuity and effectively close the healthcare loop.

  • The cost of sessions varies based on the therapist you choose and the number of sessions you sign up for. We offer session packages (1, 2, 4, 8, and 12 sessions) with a subsidised per-session rate. We also have financial-aid and pro bono options for those who have difficulties with payment. Fees are collected prior to the start of the session package.

  • Our roster of therapists is from renowned institutes in India, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom. They are proficient in 9+ major Indian languages and qualified with M.A., M.Sc., M.Ed., M.Phil, or Ph.D. in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.

Diverse approaches and techniques include: Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, Humanistic Therapies, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Art-Based Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy, Somatic, and body-based therapies.

  • We have an ethical responsibility to keep the information confidential and protect all communication as part of online sessions. Any information discussed in the sessions shall be kept entirely confidential. If you wish for any of your information or records to be released to a third party, your therapist will send you an authorisation form that you will need to fill out and sign before your information can be released.

In certain situations, your therapist may need to release information and this will be done keeping confidentiality in mind in the following ways and circumstances:
    1. If the therapist believes that the client is at risk of harming themselves or others.
    2. If the therapist is informed about or suspects abuse, neglect, and exploitation of a minor or of an incapacitated adult.
    3. If the therapist believes that the client's mental condition leaves them gravely disabled.

During such situations, The Mood Space and the therapist will be obligated to reach out to my emergency contacts for protection and reveal essential information if necessary without the authorisation form being signed.
