  • Sex is very often defined and centered around two people or more. To me, sex is very individual. It starts with each and every person and their own bodies and how they experience and navigate life through them. My understanding of being sex-positive comes from a place of understanding the entire spectrum of sex both individually as well as with other people (and objects).

Sex positivity to me refers to embracing everything from asexuality and its many forms to understanding kinks, challenging societal taboos, and advocating for human sexuality in all its forms.

  • As a queer person myself, working with my community is extremely important to me. I think being an ally, to me, means acknowledging and constantly keeping myself informed about the various identities within the community. I also believe being an ally means trying to, in whatever capacity, stay updated with the ongoing political, social, and cultural stigmatisation of people from the community and doing whatever I can to eradicate misinformation

  • I don't think there are any set outcomes as to what trauma therapy can do for survivors. Idealistically it should be aimed at some form of healing, but I typically aim to facilitate building safe emotional and physical spaces before we can start exploring the trauma.

Overall, though doing so, exploring the traumatic event/s and its effects, I think trauma therapy can help manage the aftermath, deal with things such as anxiety, and interpersonal relationships, and improve quality of life. It can also help deal with factors such as guilt, blame, and regret that often can accompany trauma.

  • A typical session with me would entail a lot of exploration and curiosity. I have an extremely collaborative and client-centred approach and draw from narrative therapy to navigate the therapeutic space. Initial sessions are focused on building trust and getting to know the client and from there we move towards defining the space and how we would like to use it.
