  • Comfort with and an openness to having informed, sensitive, open, and nonjudgmental conversations about gender, sexuality, sexual behaviour, and preferences.

  • Being an ally means not just accepting or being open to queer identities but also recognising and advocating against the systemic, structural, and cultural barriers that queer people face.

  • Outcomes of trauma therapy, although very subjective, should look like possibly being able to regulate emotions better, even if not completely negating triggers; at least learning to manage them better. They may also look like improved psychosocial adjustment, better emotional wellness, self awareness, acceptance of and openness to a wider range of emotions and experiences, and an expansion of the threshold or window of distress tolerance.

  • A typical session is one hour, and would involve exploration of your concerns. We will work towards goals that are meaningful to you. I believe that clients are the experts in their own experience so I would hope to facilitate a compassionate open conversation with you, to help foster insight and coping skills to manage distress.
