  • Sex and sexuality is a very individual journey and for me sex positivity is an understanding of sex through individual lenses, with an overarching framework of intersectional feminist concept. Consent, pleasure, engagement and individual pleasure is what I would prioritise above traditional concepts and power patriarchal ideas are rejected in my work with clients.

  • Being an ally of the community means to be an active advocate for the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community and also to acknowledge that by virtue of gender and sexual identities there is a constant marginalisation of the queer community which needs to be openly called out and acted against. It also means going an extra mile and providing the support needed to the community - through personal and professional capacities.

  • While it differs from person to person - the general idea of an initial outcome of trauma therapy is to start with being more present in the here and now, in the mind and the body - which often is the first thing that gets distorted in trauma. To restore connection with the self and to be able to start functioning at a basic level so as to honour the basic needs of the self is a first step towards recovery.

  • Sessions with me are conversational and collaborative. It is a client's journey that I witness and collaboratively work with. We may talk about current concerns, existing resilience that a client has and ways in which we can make small shifts in our situations. We would also be having elements of arts, conversations on deeper systemic levels around what are things within socially constructed narratives that often lead to us feeling a particular way and how could we create our own meanings around them. Along with this, a little bit of humour and some fun in the path of growing together in therapy is an add-on in my sessions!
