  • Sex positivity is a dedicated movement that embodies explorative and non-judgmental liberation of one's sexual rights, pleasures, and autonomy. Consent, communication, and affirmative stances are pillars of sex positivity. By acknowledging the harm that sex-based shame and guilt, heteronormativity, and violence have caused on our approach to sex and sexuality; we take the first step in unlearning many perspectives we have been conditioned to develop by our society and culture. Sexual exploration; kink, sensuality, and pleasure exploration; non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships; and education around consent and sexual health are hallmarks of my practice to ensure a safe and holding environment for you to share your experiences with sex and sexuality.

  • As a queer-affirmative therapist and ally, I consciously ask clients how they would like me to address them and their pronouns, ensure I make space to discuss the unique life stressors they face, and work with them to see how we can make therapy as safe as possible. My focus is dual: ensuring both equality and equity. I facilitate sessions with gentle curiosity to draw attention towards any internalised shame, unconscious biases, and heteronormative stances (both mine and my clients). We would work towards challenging any harmful inner dialogues unjustly entrenched by social conditioning and external systemic failures (capitalism, casteism, racism, ablesim, patriarchy, social and legal exclusion, and neglect to name a few). I continually work towards compiling and verifying resources that clients and the LBGTQI+ community may use. Over time, I hope to co-create a space where all parts of your identity can be nurtured and celebrated.

  • Healing is not a linear process, and there are no fixed outcomes of trauma therapy. Growth can look vastly different for everyone. Some hopeful outcomes of ethical and effective trauma therapy can include creating a space for survivors to share their stories; affirmation; feeling heard and validated; self-compassion; obtaining legal, medical, and emotional resources to help survivors feel supported in whatever decisions they make; challenging societal responses to trauma and victim-blaming tendencies; emotional authenticity; better emotional connection and processing; improved boundary setting and communication; and a recognition of survivors' courage and resilience.

  • Working with me, you will not get a distant, emotionally closed-off clinician. Rather, you get a fully invested, sensitive human being, with whom you can dynamically engage with! This means no generic guidance, arbitrary 'homework', pre-set worksheets, or monotonous activities. Individually tailored, non-prescriptive, active, and authentic engagement with each other is an uncompromising hallmark of my practice. Through this, we can create a space to fully embrace pain, humour, awkwardness, frustration, and joy together. My work is primarily relational and insight-oriented. My training in the Person-Centred approach helps both of us in the therapeutic dyad not only focus on the issues you face, and more importantly, get in touch with your authentic self through self-acceptance, empathy, and recognition of your intrinsic value. This non-authoritative and non-directive environment enables you to restructure and re-write your self-narrative as you see fit, experiment with new methods of moulding yourself, and pave new paths for yourself. My training in Psychodynamic therapy helps me facilitate an exploration of origins and roots, past events and experiences, and formative relationships to examine how they unconsciously influence your life. By acknowledging and coming to terms with previously unrecognised and unresolved emotions, your past patterns and unhealthy mechanisms can be unlearnt, empowering you to unchain yourself from their shackles.
