  • I believe individuals have the right to explore their sexuality, and with that embrace diverse expressions of it. For me, it means acknowledging and respecting individual desires, boundaries, and consent. Being sex positive as a therapist, means encouraging open communication, destigmatising pleasure and promoting safe practices. As a therapist, I aim to empower my clients, to understand that it's totally valid to want to explore and enjoy their sexuality, free from judgment and shame.

  • Actively supporting and advocating for equal rights, visibility, and acceptance for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. In my therapy space, I have taken steps to ensure that all my clients feel comforted, and validated about their choices, by adopting measures like a queer affirmative intake form, displaying certificates and books suggesting to the clients that I am queer affirmative, etc. For me, it also mean standing up for injustice to the community.

  • According to me, the outcomes of trauma therapy for survivors should include a sense of empowerment, improved self-esteem, and a greater ability to manage and regulate emotions.

Therapy should focus on developing healthy coping mechanisms, rebuilding trust, and finding meaning and purpose in life. It is very important for the trauma survivor to come out of therapy building that sense of safety, and self-reassurance, which is what my sessions aim for.

  • My sessions are a space for a client to heal, rebuild and reconnect with themselves, all through the aim being that the client feels empowered in their choices. The first few sessions of therapy, are usually more non-directive with the clients using that as a space to share and set context and feel connected. Thereafter, my approach focuses on trying to identify one issue at a time and working on that particular issue; so the sessions become gradually more active-directive.
