To me, sex positivity is addressing the cloak of shame around all pleasurable consensual sexual activity and in doing so allows one to explore oneself as a sexual being. Sex positivity is about accepting the sexual nature of all human experience without judgement, guilt and shame to allow for true intimacy in relationships. Sexuality encompasses almost all aspects of our being, from our attitudes and values to our feelings and experiences. And so to work towards developing a positive attitude towards sexuality is in all of our best interest.

Being an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community means opening oneself up to learning about the unfamiliar human experiences and unlearning and challenging the oppressive heteronormative status quo in intimate relationships.

While each individuals outcomes from engaging in any kind of therapeutic work are so varied that it becomes impossible to say something meaningful. The aim however, is to take the edge off the overwhelming feelings around the trauma and integrate the experience. Through being able to better tolerate and work through painful feelings, one may be able retain one's capacity to think and feel in the face of triggering experiences.

Typically, when I begin working with a client individually, I meet with them 1:1 every week for a a 50 minute session. The space belongs to the client to express themselves in any way they'd like and/or to think seriously about whatever is on their mind. Through a collaborative process of peeling back the many layers of ones experiences, the client works towards developing an deeper awareness of themselves and using it to desired outcomes.
I also work with individuals in Groups, where members meet weekly every Wednesday 4-5:30pm to discuss their concerns and learn about themselves through their relationships with each other as they unfold in a confidential and delimited space.
